Taylor Bins

The Taylor product range includes 500, 660 and 1100 litre galvanised steel waste bins as well as the Node recycling centre.  We are the authorised and exclusive distributor for Taylor Bins in the Australia/New Zealand region. Ranging from Continental 1100L bins, of which 1.3 million of these waste bins have been sold worldwide, to Node and Underground systems that have revolutionised recycling in high-density residential areas.

Steel

Older models such as the Plastic (65kg) and Old-style Steel (120-200kg) have a number of problems such as deforming bases under heavy load and the need for shin plates to prevent buckling. The new galvanised Steel - 95kg boasts Pressed panels, sump base, tubular top-frame, and superior castors.

Proven Strength
  • Hot-Dip Galvanised in Molten Zinc  - The world's best known corrosion resistance
  • Hot-dip galvanised to a minimum 55 micron zinc coverage (to EN 1461 specification), Taylor bins are covered with an average 65 micron zinc protection.
  • Birmingham City Council has a fleet of 23,000 Taylor Continentals,  their average age... 19 years

High-density living in your area?

In January 2010 a study was conducted looking at the effects of Taylor Node systems in bringing recycling to high-density living areas. The report demonstrates how residents recycled because they wanted to, not because they had to.

Street

Its aesthetic appearance blends into its surroundings, whether at a local sporting ground, busy street, or shopping centre.

Underground

Sustainable and elegant, the modern answer to waste management and recycling in regeneration projects and in new residential, business and mixed use developments. With a reduced surface footprint the Taylor Underground system is ideally suited for the collection of waste and recyclables whilst creating a feeling of open space and hygiene.Waste and recyclables are stored below ground in 3, 4 or 5 cubic metre enclosures away from the public gaze. From an operators perspective the reduced manning levels and associated costs can create operational savings of a third against traditional lifting methods.

Options

Paint
Our galvanised steel waste containers can be powder coated in any RAL colour of your choice. The colours shown on the right are some of the more popular choices, but there's many more to choose from.
Powder coat is cured in our oven at 200°C to produce an extremely tough, shiny coating, taking the knocks and holding its colour through years of even the strongest sunlight. Not only do powder coated bins look the part in prominent property developments; they are also an important means of communicating with the public. Colour-coded bins help to identify what the bin is for and who owns it.

Lids
Available in the colour of your choice, our lids recover from extensive deformation unlike competitors' injection moulded plastic lids. These rotationally moulded lids are UV resistant and their design prevents water draining into the bin. We have lids for bottles, lids for cardboard/paper recycling, smaller openings to prevent bulky items being placed in the bin, there's a range of options whatever the application.

Lifting
In the United Kingdom, the majority of bins are lifted using Din Point lifting trunnions or a Comb Lifting Bar. All Taylor bins come with a Comb Lifting Bar as standard (to EN840-2), as do many of our competitors' bins. However again you can clearly see the difference between steel and plastic. As well as these options, we also offer Forklift  and Front-end-loader (FEL) pockets, giving the bin great versatility and the end user a range of emptying options.

Extras

The possibilities...
So now that you've got the right container, surely there's something you can add to it to make it look even better. Perhaps your own brand image, or a message demonstrating how to use the container correctly? We can provide all Taylor bins with logos that comply with Australian Standards.  Alternatively, you may wish to provide your own logo.

How about security?
The Container Retainer system acts in a similar way to the central locking post on a Node system, once the bin is latched in it cannot be moved. Diamond key locks also restrict access, however for added peace of mind there is the option of a Standard/Fire Brigade padlock. Another option for keeping track of your bins is the use of an RFID tag, which can be housed by the Taylor Tagsafe Chip so that the surrounding metal does not block or conceal the RFID signal, guaranteed.

The removable Towlink system adds versatility to the Continental, allowing up to four containers to be towed at once. Ideal for stadiums, parks and large entertainment venues, this add-on increases efficiency without compromising on safety.

What if you're hands are full and you can't open the bin without putting down those bulky items? The foot-operated system reduces the risk of injury and frees up your arms thanks to the pedal at the base of the bin. Perfect for hospitality, retail and manufacturing environments, these are available on both the 1100L and 500L Continentals.
